Off to see Billy Collins tonight to be awed by the way he arranges scene and reflection and color and detail all in one poem so alive that it reaches out of the page and grabs my heart.

i once saw billy collins in ann arbor. he is one of my favorite poets... i love that man. let us know how it goes!!

He was of course brilliant. And unexpectedly hilarious. It was a perfect setting, in a little jewel box of a theater, and afterwards, I got him to sign my favorite poem "This Much I Do Remember" on the page instead of the inside cover.

I even got a little starstruck and goofy.
