no more lukewarm tea

Why have I waited so long to make a tea cozy? As far as I’m concerned, there aren’t enough opportunities to introduce pattern in a small, rented kitchen. Aprons and tea towels can only go so far. So here’s one pattern with a purpose.

Now, even if there’s bad news on the kitchen radio, there’s still two reasons to cheer: tea that's still piping hot for the second (and third!) cup, and the fact that one side of this little fabric helmet kind of looks like a Hostess CupCake.

On an unrelated note, we’re having a January heatwave here in San Francisco. Whether it’s the 70-degree heat or something else, the sky was actually the color of orange sherbet this evening. Happy, happy stuff.

Dear Kelly,
Thank you for sharing your creative pieces, colorful photos and journal entries...I have come to your website by browsing 'san francisco green art'...
I'm an artist visiting San Francisco for the first time next week, the warm weather and creative energy are sure inviting! Any suggestions? I've just read about the reverse graffiti project...
All the best,

hi kelly! it's traci, colin debakker's girlfriend. we met in mendocino. how are you?! i've been a loyal fan of your blog since returning from that trip. i love your posts! i'm bummed everyday there's not a new one for the day ;) so i had a crafty question for you. so i recently cut some jeans so i could tug them into boots. it worked great but i have these two remaining pieces of denim, about 12 inches in length each. any suggestions on fun things to do with them? i thought maybe you'd know something to do with them instead of just throwing them out. let me know.
otherwise hope life is treating you well. give a shout out to SF for me - love it there!
talk soon,
traci
