more lovey treats
Feb 13, 2009 Making or giving chocolate bark seems mysteriously confined to the big-ticket December holidays. But this makes no sense – because last time I checked, bark is a year-round event on trees. And it turns out it’s one of the simplest things I’ve ever made. Literally, it took about 10 minutes to go from before to after using this recipe.

The last image in the photo is another chocloate treat that's perfect for this time of year. The recipe is from a farm-spa-cooking school (dreamy!) featured in this month’s Sunset. The fact that it doesn't use any butter was almost an instant disqualification for me, because my family genetics pre-determined my deep suspicion of butter substitutes. But the idea of using simmered prunes was so kooky that I wanted to try it. And it's a keeper: rich and warm without being cloyingly sweet, and plenty moist.
Finally, I can’t let the day go by without sharing a post from a personal crafting hero over at Angry Chicken. As far as I’m concerned, sexy and cute do not intersect as often as they should, especially in the crafty world. Her handmade undies solve that problem and are so adorable, I almost wouldn’t care if they look better on the hanger than they do on me. You can find them right here.
Have a great day of love, everyone. xo
