friday afternoon jingle

We saw an Irish singer this week called Lisa Hannigan, who used to sing backup for Damien Rice. Now she’s out on her own, with her first album. She hand-stitched the lyrics for the liner notes and cover art; her mom knit the background texture of her website (which has adorable little pop-up picture books); and her stage setup included a little toadstool lamp that sat on the corner of her harmonium. On top of all that, her voice is so pure, it’s almost like it doesn’t have any extra air in it. Just bell-clear notes.

This song is a great little Friday afternoon jingle, and they hand-shot the video in a cobbler shop-turned-pub we’ve been to in Dingle. Pretty charming stuff.

Saw her perform with Jason Mraz! Her stage presence is just too sweet for words. <3
