Apr 20, 2009 It’s supposed to be 90 degrees today. I want to eat this weather.
Yesterday was warm and slow, with lots of time in the backyard. If you have this tool, you can make fresh lemonade in about 3 minutes flat, then bring it out back and stuff the pitcher full of renegade mint from the garden.
On Saturday, I spent a couple hours up close and personal with thousands of bees, courtesy of the San Francisco Beekeepers' Association. We lifted frames heavy with honey out of buzzing hives and generally got used to being within inches of thousands of bees. My goal was to make it through class without screaming and dropping a frame, and ladies and gentlemen, it was a rousing success. I think the full beesuit helped.
When I got home, I worked on some crochet and then made shortbread. Just when I started to feel like I was in training to become either a Mennonite or survivalist, we went to a friend’s party and drank champagne all night.

I just recently found out more about the plight of the honeybees. That's so neat that you were working with bees for a day, Kelly. And I absolutely love lemonade of all kinds, especially mint lemonade. So much so that I think it cost me a cavity recently (how sad that something so sweet can ruin your tooth enamel. Yet I still drink it.)
