i love this idea

How sweet do these delicate pea vines and flowers look against these branches? My cousin here in Vermont is thinning out a wooded area behind his house and shoved a bunch of branches into the ground for the peas to climb. I love it, big time. Such a cool, natural look that makes my trellis look pretty square.

How funny. Denny used branches scrounged along a favorite walking path to make teepee trellises for my peas and apart from Thomas tearing it down last weekend in his attempt to get close to the plants to water them (he has to watch the water go into the roots or something) - I love it. Actually the peas share the teepees with beans with radishes and potatoes and a cauliflower underneath.
what a great idea. i did this with an old branch on the side of the raised bed, but now i want this for next year.
I love this too! I did something similar in my garden last year, but I stripped the main central branch of all its twigs. I like this one better, it's more feathery and delicate. :)
