home again, home again

When we arrived home very late last night (technically early this morning), my sister picked us up at the airport, complete with two portable nightcaps of Baileys and hot chocolate. Door to door service, even though her household starts waking up at 5:30am.

Then when we walked into our apartment, there was this happy poster that I want to keep up forever.

Along with sunflowers, fresh fruit, meatloaf and a pasta-corn-zucchini casserole in the fridge. I will curb my sisterlove posts soon, but I really do have two of the very best.

It’s strange to be back to sidewalks and the fog after a month of lush, green Vermont. And I think our dog had forgotten what a leash was. I have so many stories and small moments of happiness bobbing around my sleepy head from these past few weeks.

No offense to all the great people and places between Nevada and upstate New York, but it would be okay with me if all of a sudden Vermont was a whole lot closer to California.

I was going to say that I need a sister like that, but then I realized that I should be a sister like that. Thanks for the inspiration.

Ohhhhh, I know your post was from a ways back but I just found your blog through Angry Chicken....just wanted to share in your dream of Vermont being closer to California. I'm a Vermonter who used to live in California who is now back in Vermont. I do miss California......but love, appreciate and feel blessed by all Vermont has for me. Looking forward to reading your blog more...
