warm friendship and bread

Sitting on the sidewalk at Tartine with a sweetheart of a friend, arriving miraculously just as they pulled their late-bake bread from the ovens. So hot it was hard to carry outside. Sipping wine, ripping off hunks of warm bread, slathering them with butter, and catching up in the late afternoon sunshine.
