dirt, i've missed you

The garden is freshly dug and planted with sweet peas, shelling peas, potatoes and lettuce. My favorite group for early spring growing.

My garden is under three feet of snow. Ah, but there is hope in the seed catalog.

Oh, to be in California. I too am limited to seed catalog fantasies.

We've ordered our seed potatoes and I CANNOT WAIT to get some dirt under my nails. I'm envious...we've got a week or so yet here in Texas and considering our crazy winter weather we've been having that could turn into a month or so! Fingers crossed that we don't get any more snow....

Sigh. Still have weeks to go here in the soggy NW before planting.

See, it may sound like we're gloating out here. But check back in the summer when we're buried in chilly fog and you real summer folks are in sundresses, tending big fat tomatoes and drinking ice cold lemonade to cool down. Then it will be my turn to sigh.

I am missing my garden too! Just a few more weeks until I can start digging around in it again.

boo hoo! We're still in the deep depths of winter even though my seed catalogs are stacking up. Spring will be here again someday, right? In the meantime, I'm enjoying the extra layers (sweaters and skin) and my blindingly white skin...

I just went out to check my "dirt" here in Co. even though today it is going to be a weird 70 degrees...it was hard as a rock. I got excited for nothing. I knew it!
