a frida-esque number

My husband is pals with Andy who makes the gorgeous line of Escama bags. Andy works with a Brazilian craft co-op to make the slinky bags from crocheted pull-tabs from recycled soda cans. Well, the talented ladies at Esama made these fat red flowers for a giveaway, and when Andy had some leftover, he kindly passed them along to me (thanks Andy!). I strung them together with elastic thread and now have a piece of dramatic arm art that reminds me of heavy, late-summer blooms.

I know it’s kind of weird that I’m holding this plant, but my hands felt empty being photographed and wanted to do something. The dog liked the bracelet too.
